About West Bridgford

West Bridgford is the next town along from the city centre. It is another great location with many high-class bars and restaurants that sit alongside the River Trent.

The annual Riverside festival is held on a mile long section of the River Trent known as Victoria Embankment in front of the war memorial. It is Nottingham’s biggest free festival which attracts 10’s of thousands of people with live music, boat racing, fireworks and more.

West Bridgford is also the home to the Nottingham Trent Bridge Cricket Ground where test matches are played and the local Nottingham cricket club play the majority of their home games.

If cricket isn’t your sport, then football may be your thing. West Bridgford is home to The City Ground. This is where Nottingham Forest F.C, England’s best football team, play all of their championship home games. Meadow Lane, where Notts County play all of their League 2 home games, is also located in West Bridgford.

Further along the river is Holme Pierrepont. This large country park has some of the best scenery in Nottingham and is perfect for summer walks. The National Water Sports Centre is also in this location. Activities such as sailing, white water rafting and canoeing take place here.
